Hello Steps for MS followers. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization, and I hope that the workouts that Mike and I have created are not only helpful in your preparation for the walk, but also improve your overall fitness to help you reach all of your personal goals. Fitness has been a passion of mine from a young age. I always knew that I wanted a career where I could show people the positive benefits of being physically fit. I believe that fitness should be fun no matter your age or physical ability. I also believe in a “go hard or go home” mentality while working out. Too many people waste hours in the gym every week. You can get an awesome workout in about a half an hour- it’s all about maximizing your time and working out smarter. I hope you enjoy the workouts! Here are some of my fitness career highlights-
– I was a middle school physical education and health teacher for two years. While teaching, I realized the importance that a positive physical education experience has on a child. I created a morning workout club where my students really thrived- this was one of my greatest accomplishments while teaching.
– I was a personal trainer in a women’s only studio where I trained in small groups. I trained over one hundred different clients of all ages and abilities and really enjoyed watching my clients achieve amazing results.
– I served as fitness center manager for Intel, Corporation. While at Intel, I taught group exercise classes, ran monthly contests and promotions, and led several personal training sessions per day. One highlight of my time at Intel was leading a group of over 800 runners in a pre race warm up routine prior to the start of the Intel 5k. It was awesome working in such a state of the art corporate setting- it is a cool thing to see that employers are starting to realize the power of a healthy and fit workforce.
– Currently, I am working in the special education department of a middle school. In addition, I am running a personal training program for the staff of the school. It has been a really cool experience utilizing the combination of my education and fitness backgrounds.
